The story of the lost son, from Luke 15
Big Idea for Parents
God delights in his children, even when there is nothing in us that is delightful! Due to how far and how much we wander, it’s easy to think, “God just puts up with us”. Jesus parable of the prodigal son shows that simply isn’t true. “Prodigal” means “spend money or resources in an extravagantly wasteful way.” This story is more about a prodigal God than a prodigal son, a God who loves his children extravagantly, even when they wander.

Why did the son in parable leave his home? After he left, why did he decide to come back?
What did the father do when his son came home?
What is your favorite part of this story? Why?
Father in heaven, thank you for being our true Father who welcomes us back with love when we wander. Please fill us your Spirit that we might show grace and love to others as you have shown to us. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
